I was five and he was six

4 4 4 4 4 4* 4 4
We rode on hors-es made of sticks

-3* -3* -3* -3* 4 -3* -3*
He wore black and I wore white

-3* -3* -3* -3* 4 -3* -3*
He would al-ways win the fight

 4* 4 4 4* 4 4
Bang bang, he shot me down

 4* 4 4 4* 4 4
Bang bang, I hit the ground

 4 -3* -3* 4 -3* -3*
Bang bang, that aw-ful sound

 4 -3* -3* 4 -3* 3* 3 -2
Bang bang, my ba-by shot me down

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would al-ways laugh and say
"Remember when we used to play?

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.”

Mu-sic played, and peo-ple sang

 5* 5* 5* 6* -5* 5* 5*
Just for me, the church bells rang

Now he's gone, I don't know why
And till this day, some-times I cry
He did-n't e-ven say good-bye
He did-n't take the time to lie

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that aw-ful sound
Bang bang, my ba-by shot me down
              Ba-by shot me down
