The first time ev-er I saw your face
-3 6 6 -66 7 7 7 7-77-66-6
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
 3 3 7 7 7 -6 6
And the moon and the stars
  6 -5 6 5 3
were the gifts you gave
3 -3 -3* 3 3 -3 -3 3 3
to the dark and the end of the skies

-3 -3 -5 -5 -5 6 -6 6 5 3
And the first time ev-er I kissed your mouth
-3 6 6 -6 6 7 7 7 7-77-66-6
I felt the earth move in my hand
 3 3 7 7 -6 6 6 -5 6 5 3
Like the trem-bling heart of a cap-tive bird
 3 -3 -3* 3-3 -3 3 3 3 3
That was there at my com-mand, my love

-3 -3 -5 -5 -5 6 -6 6 5 3
And the first time ev-er I lay with you
-3 6 6 -6 6 7 7 7 7-77-66-6
I felt your heart so close to mine
 3 3 7 7 -66 6 -5 6 5 3
And I knew our joy would fill the earth
3-3 -3* 3 3 -3 3 3 3 3
And last till the end of time my love
