3 5 5 -4 4
We're not the same, dear
-2” 4 4 3 5
As we used to be
3 -6 6 5 5
The seasons have changed
-1 4 5 -4
And so have we
3 3 -4 5 5 -4 -4
There was little we could say
-3” 4 4 4 4 2 -2
Even less that we could do
-2 -2 -2 -6 6 6 5 -4 4
To stop the ice from getting thinner
1 4 4 -3” 3 -4 4
Under m-e-e and you
3 5 5 5 -4
We buried our love
1 4 4 4 -3" 5
In a wintery grave
3 -6 6 5 5
A lump in the snow
4 4 -1 5 -4
Was all that remained
3 3 5 5 -4 -4
But we stayed by its side
-1 4 4 4 3 3
As the days turned to weeks
3 3 -6 6 6 5 -4 4
And the ice kept getting thinner
-1 4 4 4 -3” 3 1 -4 4
With every wo-r-d that we'd speak
1 4 4 4 3 3
And when the spring arrived
-1 1 4 4 4 1 -4’
We were taken by surprise
4 5 -5 5 -4 -4 -3’ -3” 3
When the floes under our fe-e-t
3 5 -4 4 4 -2”
Bled in-t-o the sea
-2 -2 -2 -5
Nothing was left
-1 -3 -3 4
For you and me
3 5 5 -4 4
We're not the same, dear
2 4 4 3 5
And it seems to me
3 -6 6 6 5 5
There's nowhere we can go
1 4 4 4 5 -4
With nothing underneath
3 3 -4 5 5 -4 -4
And it saddens me to say
-1 4 4 4 3 3
What we both knew was true
3 3 -6 6 6 5 -4 4
That the ice was getting thinner
1 4 4 -3” 3 -4 4
Under me-e-e and you
3 -6 6 6 5 -4 4
The ice was getting thinner
1 4 4 -3” 3 -4 4
Under me-e-e and you
