Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed.
  4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 5 5
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
  5 -5 6 6 6 6 6 4 -4 5 -5 5 -4 4 3
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.
4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 4 4
I say love, it is a flower, and you it's only seed.

  4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 5 5
It's the heart, afraid of breaking, that never learns to dance.
  4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 5 5
It's the dream, afraid of waking, that never takes a chance.
 5 -5 6 6 6 6 6 4 -4 5 -5 5 -4 4 3
It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give.
 4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 4 4
And the soul, afraid of dyin', that never learns to live.

  4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 5 5
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
 4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 5 5
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong.
 5 -5 6 6 6 6 6 4 -4 5 -4 5 -4 4 3
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
  4 -4 5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 4 4 -4 4 4
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.
