When I dreamed of-- Ap-pal-a-chia

I would fashion I`d imagine
Some-where steeped in water-falls
Wild birds sing to a five string
Bouncin` music off mountain walls
Coal trains wailin` banjos frailing
Sounds escapein` through the door
But the Face Of Appalachia was there
she was changin` that`s for
5-4 5 6-6 5 -4 4-4 5-4 4 5 -4 4 4
sure~~~~~ she was changin` that`s for sure.

Grand pa made me quite a promise
For the day I came of age
He said we`d walk through Appalachia
Northern Georgia all through to Maine
Dreadfull sorry my beloved
Such a promise couldn`t keep
All my dreams of Appalachia
Just an old mans memories
Just an old mans memories
